Nowadays, there are many reasons that can cause certain problems. I'm not a developer of this game.
So I fixed it for myself and other people, but I can't fix it for everyone. Anyway, if you experience insurmountable difficulties with launching the game, you can always ask Steam support for a refund. Just choose it and click " Apply ". Then you need to launch Crysis as usual, go to the game settings and change the video mode.
In this case you can try to launch Crysis in DirectX 9 mode. Take note that you can't change graphics settings to maximum in this mode only high preset is available. WoollenShark 18 Nov, am.

Thanks to this guide the game worked for me. Oh I see.. Ok, I feel stupid, but until now I hadn't ever tried playing multiplayer got it a few days ago.
Still havent heard from Steam so Ill play the waiting game until something comes up ;. The version 1. With respect to these crashes, the further patches has to be prepared for the game or updates to Windows 7, not sure. However I see it as software problem only not drivers, not hardware. But they usually keep the game from starting, not crashing after a playing interval. You might also check the Crysis guide at Tweak Guides dot com to see where you might be able to change a few settings to improve performance without sacrificing image quality.
But this thing about crashing in Crysis only, and after ten minutes not immediately is indeed very curious. Crysis is often GPU-limited, but I've never thought it to be exceedingly stressful or a hot running game. Do you have a copy of GPU-Z? There's a logging function in its settings that will save the basic info - volts, temps, etc - to a file. It saves the info as it logs it, so any crash is documented all the way up "to the moment".
Perhaps that may gives us cause to investigate somewhere a bit more specific. I don't suspect a hardware problem either, but we can get an idea of what the card may be doing from its level of activity. Hi all. I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth.
I have been having the same problems. I am running Win7 Ultimate 64 bit. I have found that I get the same error running any DX10 games.
I play Crysis, Witchers and Avatar and get the Kernelbase. Some times after 10 mins but usually around mins. If I switch the games to run in DX9, they will run continuously for hours.
I know my hardware is sweet as I have stress tested it all on multiple occasions. My system drivers are all up to date. I have spent a lot of hours reading forums on the said topic with no luck in finding a solution. If I could, I could possibly test it by installing DX10 onto my machine with Vista installed but don't have the HD space atm to duel boot.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post and I hope that a solution is found soon. From craigsit's comments I'm starting to think maybe this has something to do with Windows 7 or particularly the bit version of Windows 7 I am also on Win7 Ult 64bit. Obviously the NV driver could also very well be the culprit. I am running the bit version of the NV drivers as well.
Could this be an issue with the bit version of NV's driver? Just wanted to add my crashing-Crysis experiences I've also been seeing consistently frequent crashes playing Crysis the original game, not Warhead or Wars.
Neither has made noticeable difference in Crysis stability. Analyzed via Process Explorer. Previously used latest Windows 7 bit Nvidia released driver Crysis crashes still occur at default clock rates for both CPU and video card.
Crashes to desktop with "Crysis has stopped working" Windows error message. Occasionally it will freeze instead of crashing. I don't see crashes with any other games, whether they're DX9 or DX I have the Steam version of Crysis, which I downloaded about two months ago. Crysis is set to be automatically updated, as are all my Steam games. I have no command line launch options set for Crysis, and am not running any Crysis mods.
Hope this helps to shed some light. Its maddening because THIS install I have now, was working, sometimes not, but then it just stopped and refuses to run again. Search In.
