Toro 1100 trimmer weeder manual

Lift out the spool to remove it from the unit. Place a new, pre-wound 0. Before setting it in place, ensure that the string extends about 6 inches and is secure in one of the retaining slots on the spool. Squeeze the tabs on the spool retainer and press it into place over the new spool until it clicks.

Turn off the trimmer, remove the battery and remove the spool according to steps 1 and 2 in the previous section. Lee's recommendation of 'unscrew' the spool did not work for me. Put a screwdriver into the little slot on either side of the black spool holder and just pry it down and it will just pop off. Marlene, think I figured it out. You keep turning the spool counter-clockwise and it will eventually unscrew. It takes quite a few turns to come off and probably the reason I didn't think anything was loosening but it is.

You the can re-wrap new string around the spool and then put it back turning clock wise until tight. It's a challenge to get the string back through the hole but it can be done. It shows you on the spool which way to wrap the string. Mine keeps coming off but I think my spool is broken and maybe that's why. I'd be curious to know if you get the spool apart or get your trimmer working again. Please post if you see this. Lee July I'm having the same problem..

It has a right hand thread screw to remove and attach it to the trimmer head. Its purpose is to hold the spool with the cutting line, in the spool housing. It also acts as the bumper to advance the line from the spool. This is a well used and abused part of the trimmer. It may be a good idea to order an extra one. This is an OEM replacement part,it is sold individually. The purpose of the Air Purge Bulb is to purge all of the air from the carburetor. It then brings fuel up through the fuel line in the tank into the carburetor.

Once the carburetor is full of fuel the Bulb will force the excess fuel back into the tank through the fuel return line. Over time the bulb will loose it elasticity or begin to crack, it will need to be replaced at this time.

A spark plug is used to deliver electric current from an ignition system to an internal combustion engine. Over time spark plugs will become dirty or fouled. Insert the cut line into one eyelet hole on the outside of the trimmer head and push it through until it exits on the other side through the second eyelet, instructs Mower's Direct.

Pull the line through until the two ends outside of the trimmer head are the same length. Hold the trimmer head stationary with one hand and turn the bottom in the direction of the arrow printed on it to wind the string until about 8 inches protrude from both eyelets.

Curved shafts wind counterclockwise and straight shaft trimmers wind in a clockwise direction. Replace the spark plug boot firmly onto the spark plug.
