Small crews of are always supervised by Teaching Assistants. Weekend activities are mandatory for housed students and include daylong trips. Counselors attend and supervise these outings. Activities take place nearly every weeknight as well, and these are optional. In previous years these have included: going to the movies, museums, theatre, shopping, bowling, laser tag, among others. An average of 14 counselors live at the residence who plan and supervise these outings. All campers may take part in o rganized evening and weekend activities including screenings, visits to amusement parks, and of course, the beach.

Commuting students are welcome to join all activities, however, extra cost may apply. Arrangements can be made with the New York Film Academy to include housing during their program with rates detailed in Housing Options. Campers are not required to reside with the New York Film Academy in order to attend the workshop. Campers who require housing but choose not to participate in our residential program under the care and supervision of the New York Film Academy residential staff must find alternate housing facilities.

Our design industry professionals and staff are dedicated to mentoring our students on their creative paths, supporting them throughout camp and beyond. Pura Vida Peace Camp offers youth a bilingual summer day camp experience in Tamarindo, Costa Rica that explores an array of subjects from eco-sustainability and global peace practices to adventure and cultural activities like surfing, sports, arts, cooking and more!
